School model
Academic education
Students start their education in general subjects in Years 5 and 6, which are part of the primary school curriculum.
In the Integrated Secondary School afterwards from Years 7 to 10, they can obtain the vocational training certificate in Year 9 and the advanced vocational training certificate and secondary school leaving certificate in Year 10.
After Year 10, students have the option of either the vocational college or attending lessons at the 3-year vocational secondary school, which can lead to the Abitur (German equivalent to A-levels), depending on their personal educational achievements. The general education curriculum’s range of subjects expands accordingly as a result.
